Sony also claims that it can block out noise while you’re in an airport but will still allow you to hear any announcements. This means that you will still be able to hear the noise around you even when using the XM4. The headphones also have an Adaptive Sound Control feature that senses user activity and whereabouts, allowing the headphones to automatically adjust the amount of ambient sound that it lets in without hampering the listening experience. These features are meant to restore the sound lost during the compression of an audio file. The XM4 works on a QN1 noise-canceling processor coupled with Edge-AI (Artificial Intelligence) and DSEE Extreme (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) technologies. It improves many of the features of its predecessor, the WH-1000XM3, including noise cancelation and sound quality.
